It’s interesting how a week or longer can pass without my having an A1 photo. That prompts my friends to ask if I’m “still taking pictures for the paper.” And it makes me wonder if I’m pulling my weight in the photo department.
Then there are weeks like this one. My photos are the lead images for seven straight days, starting last Tuesday and running through Sunday. This is a completely random occurrence. It just so happens seven stories for which I shot photos happen to run consecutively.
A variety of factors determine which photographer gets which photo request. A photographer’s work shift, other assignments to be shot that day and the time it takes to complete an assignment all factor into the assignment decision.
That said, here are a few of my front-page photos from this week (in order of appearance).
