I was very grateful that I was able to cover The Great Prosser Balloon Rally. It was a spectacular event with visuals all around. Floating on a hot air balloon was also a pretty interesting experience. Although my flight time was limited due to the winds, I had a great time with my pilot. When you’re up there, you get a real sense of the valley and the surrounding geography. What a beautiful morning! Here are some of my frames from the event.
At the end of the balloon ride, I was ready to head back to Yakima when I was told by one of the crew members that I needed to stick around. Of course, I didn’t argue and kept photographing them packing up the balloon. After the balloon was packed, we gathered in a circle. When someone has had their first balloon float, it is customary to participate in the ceremony with the pilot and his crew. Here are the pictures that one of crew took of us. Just proof that I didn’t back out of this one.
