Andy Sawyer began his career as a photographer in Cashmere, Wash., while working for the Cashmere Valley Record and The Leavenworth Echo weekly newspapers.
His work earned him awards and gave him opportunities to work for the Federal Way News in Federal Way, Wash., The Times-News in Twin Falls, Idaho, and the East Valley Tribune in Mesa, Ariz. before joining the Herald-Republic staff in October of 2006.
Andy likes to spend his time off with his wife, Tracy, and their daughters, Lucy and June, and, around lunch time, is likely to be found at one of the many taco stands in the Valley, looking for the perfect adobada.
