Several people have told me how much they liked the photo I shot at the Martin Luther King Jr. spray park. It’s always nice to hear people react in a positive way to a photo, even one that was, to be honest, a fallback. I was “feature hunting,” as we call it. It was a hot day. I found these four boys playing in n inflatable pool in a side yard. They had set up a ladder and were jumping into the water. Problem was there were no parents around and when I did locate one, he asked that I not photograph his children. OK. Not a problem, but it would have been a great photo. So I was back looking and decided to hit the spray park and get a photo in the bag before looking for more. Turns out the photo I found was even better than the previous one, even though we shoot photos like it often enough. From the handful of positive responses I’ve received, nobody seemed to mind.
