I have to admit that I’m always happy when the Yakima Farmers Market opens. All that fresh food just screaming out to me to go home and turn them into a meal. But everyone knows that the first week is usually limited in selection (although the selection of greens was impressive). So I was more looking for a photo that captured the happiness of a new season starting, a collective smile from people enjoying one of our city’s gems. That’s what this photo is about. And, by the way, I also have a five year-old girl who likes to dress in hot pink, wear wild, striped socks, put on flashy sunglasses and dance at the market.
