On the weekends, I don’t haul around 20lbs of photo gear. I don’t worry about mega pixels or ISO or much of anything. I used to not even really make many photos on the weekends. It was my camera-free time. Photography is work and other things are play. However, after my trusty old iPod bit the dust after being dropped one too many times from my gym bag, I bought an iPod touch and instantly fell under the enchanting spell of photo apps. So easy! And my new “camera,” so light! So unassuming! So fun! Here are a few snaps from a trip to Seattle.

And a leaf that was on my dash board while I was waiting on Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard for a train to pass:

And finally, of course, cats. I used the Hipstamatic app, and one called PictureShow that allows you to change borders and add “light leaks,” and other funky features. All in all, I’ve found that getting the serious out of my photography and getting back into photography as play has rejuvenated my creativity and help me see the world with fresh eyes again!
